This <strong>recognition<\/strong> celebrates <strong>Italy\u2019s ability<\/strong> to transform the <strong>dining table<\/strong> into a place of <strong>encounter, dialogue, and universal sharing<\/strong>. The honor was formally granted with its <strong>inscription<\/strong> in the <strong>UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage<\/strong>, making it the <strong>first culinary tradition in the world<\/strong> to be recognized <strong>in its entirety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was made <strong>unanimously<\/strong> by the <strong>UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee<\/strong>, convened in <strong>New Delhi, India<\/strong>. According to the statement, <strong>Italian cuisine<\/strong> represents a <strong>\u201ccultural and social blend of culinary traditions\u201d<\/strong>, a <strong>universal language<\/strong> capable of expressing <strong>love<\/strong>, <strong>self-care and care for others<\/strong>, and of rediscovering <strong>deep cultural roots<\/strong>. It is also a <strong>bridge<\/strong> that allows <strong>communities<\/strong> to <strong>share their stories<\/strong> and <strong>describe the world<\/strong> around them.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>nomination<\/strong>, titled <strong>\u201cbbbbbb\u201d<\/strong>, was promoted by the <strong>Collegio Culinario cultural association for Italian food and wine<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Casa Artusi<\/strong>, the <strong>Accademia della Cucina Italiana<\/strong>, and the magazine <strong>La Cucina Italiana<\/strong>. The goal was to highlight the <strong>values<\/strong> that have always defined <strong>Italian culinary tradition<\/strong>, such as the <strong>fight against food waste<\/strong> and the <strong>reduction of resource consumption<\/strong>, making cuisine a <strong>model of sustainability and environmental responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With this new <strong>recognition<\/strong>, <strong>Italy<\/strong> now counts <strong>19 elements<\/strong> in the <strong>UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage<\/strong>, plus <strong>one element<\/strong> in the <strong>Register of Good Safeguarding Practices<\/strong>. Globally, <strong>UNESCO<\/strong> has recognized <strong>788 elements across 150 countries<\/strong>, confirming the <strong>extraordinary richness of cultural traditions<\/strong> that make up the <strong>mosaic of humanity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Italian cuisine<\/strong> is considered <strong>inclusive<\/strong>, capable of overcoming <strong>cultural and generational barriers<\/strong>. It is not just a <strong>collection of recipes<\/strong>, but a <strong>true way of life<\/strong>, combining <strong>conviviality, creativity, and respect for nature<\/strong>. <strong>UNESCO\u2019s recognition<\/strong> is also a <strong>tribute<\/strong> to the <strong>craftsmanship of Italian agri-food companies<\/strong>, <strong>ambassadors<\/strong> of not only <strong>food<\/strong>, but also <strong>Italian culture and society<\/strong> around the world.<\/p>\n<p>During his <strong>mission in India<\/strong>, <strong>Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani<\/strong> attended the session examining the <strong>nomination<\/strong>, emphasizing that this <strong>achievement<\/strong> is a <strong>source of pride for Italy<\/strong> and an <strong>invitation<\/strong> to continue promoting our <strong>gastronomic tradition<\/strong> as a <strong>symbol of sustainability, diversity, and cultural identity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Italian cuisine has officially entered the ranks of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, confirming that food is not only nourishment, but also culture, history, and future.
