Italian cuisine<\/strong> has officially entered the ranks of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity<\/strong>, confirming that food<\/strong> is not only nourishment<\/strong>, but also culture, history, and future<\/strong>. This recognition<\/strong> celebrates Italy\u2019s ability<\/strong> to transform the dining table<\/strong> into a place of encounter, dialogue, and universal sharing<\/strong>. The honor was formally granted with its inscription<\/strong> in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage<\/strong>, making it the first culinary tradition in the world<\/strong> to be recognized in its entirety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The decision was made unanimously<\/strong> by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee<\/strong>, convened in New Delhi, India<\/strong>. According to the statement, Italian cuisine<\/strong> represents a \u201ccultural and social blend of culinary traditions\u201d<\/strong>, a universal language<\/strong> capable of expressing love<\/strong>, self-care and care for others<\/strong>, and of rediscovering deep cultural roots<\/strong>. It is also a bridge<\/strong> that allows communities<\/strong> to share their stories<\/strong> and describe the world<\/strong> around them.<\/p>\n

The nomination<\/strong>, titled \u201cbbbbbb\u201d<\/strong>, was promoted by the Collegio Culinario cultural association for Italian food and wine<\/strong>, in collaboration with Casa Artusi<\/strong>, the Accademia della Cucina Italiana<\/strong>, and the magazine La Cucina Italiana<\/strong>. The goal was to highlight the values<\/strong> that have always defined Italian culinary tradition<\/strong>, such as the fight against food waste<\/strong> and the reduction of resource consumption<\/strong>, making cuisine a model of sustainability and environmental responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With this new recognition<\/strong>, Italy<\/strong> now counts 19 elements<\/strong> in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage<\/strong>, plus one element<\/strong> in the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices<\/strong>. Globally, UNESCO<\/strong> has recognized 788 elements across 150 countries<\/strong>, confirming the extraordinary richness of cultural traditions<\/strong> that make up the mosaic of humanity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Italian cuisine<\/strong> is considered inclusive<\/strong>, capable of overcoming cultural and generational barriers<\/strong>. It is not just a collection of recipes<\/strong>, but a true way of life<\/strong>, combining conviviality, creativity, and respect for nature<\/strong>. UNESCO\u2019s recognition<\/strong> is also a tribute<\/strong> to the craftsmanship of Italian agri-food companies<\/strong>, ambassadors<\/strong> of not only food<\/strong>, but also Italian culture and society<\/strong> around the world.<\/p>\n
