From 6:00 p.m. (Rome time, CET) on February 12th, 2026, until 12:00 a.m. (Rome time, CET) on February 18th, 2026, the Visa Information System (VIS) will be temporarily shut down.
This is a scheduled and urgent technical intervention that will result in the temporary suspension of the receipt and processing of visa applications, as well as the issuance of entry visas. This suspension will affect the operations of both the visa office of the Embassy of Italy and the centers managed by the outsourcer TLS Contact.
In order to minimize inconvenience to users, appointments already scheduled will be rescheduled for the days immediately before or after the period affected by the operational shutdown, taking into due consideration priority needs and urgent cases.
