On 24 February 2026, the Ambassador of Italy to Nigeria, Roberto Mengoni, accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Iacopo Foti and the Ministry of Interior Attaché in Nigeria, Giovanni Modica, met with the Minister of the Interior of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, at the Ministry’s offices in Abuja.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual cooperation, confirming the excellent level of bilateral relations between Italy and Nigeria. It was a constructive exchange focused on security, institutional cooperation, and the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two Nations — a step forward in working together on shared challenges and in promoting stability and development.
