On 15 January, Nigeria celebrates the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the national day dedicated to the fallen and veterans of the Nigerian Armed Forces, which marked the end of the Nigerian Civil War on 15 January 1970, when Biafra surrendered to the federal government.
The Ambassador of Italy, Roberto Mengoni, attended the ceremony together with the other Heads of Mission, at the event presided over by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Kashim Shettima.
